Odisha suffered back-to-back defeats when they lost to Tripura by 21 runs in a league match of the East Zone Senior Women Inter-State Cricket Tournament at Guwahati (Assam) today. I Jamatia and R Chakraborty put up impressive performance in the Tripura win, hitting a patient 41 and bagging four wickets for 22 runs.
Electing to bat, Tripura made 132 for nine in 50 overs and then dismissed Odisha for 111 in 46.5 overs. Odisha skipper Madhusmita Behera, Swagatika Rath and Priyanka Sahu batted well towards the end, but their efforts did not prove enough to overhaul the opposition target.
With this win Tripura collected four points, while Odisha, which earlier lost to Assam by five wickets two days ago, drew blank. Odisha will next meet Bengal on November 10.
